It's enough to make one's head hurt

So, within the last 24 hours:

Trump has threatened to cut off FEMA aid to California because “The fires are the result of poor forest management.” (presumably because they don’t “rake the forest floor”) Isn’t it odd that in no forest in America, including Federally owned National Parks, is the floor  raked, but only Californians are negligent? Of course this completely ignores the recent study which points the finger directly at Pacific Gas and Electric, whose line maintenance (or non-maintenance) was to blame. Or maybe it’s just that California is overwhelmingly Democratic?

Trump claims or implies, (which is lying by omission) that the heroin coming into the US from the South comes across the border with undocumented persons. In truth, a concept with which Trump is unfamiliar, almost all heroin entering comes either into sea ports, or across the border at legal crossing points in trucks/ cars, etc. Ann Coulter actually said “all” illegal drugs come from Mexico”, which makes me wonder exactly where in Mexico she thinks China is, since most or all of the Fentanyl (worse than smack),  entering the US for a non-legit use comes from China.

Sarah Huckleberry Slanders said and, again, Trump implied, that "4000 potential terrorists had been apprehended at the Mexican border." This would be alarming except for the fact that’s it’s a lie. Not just a lie, but an epic and blatant bullshit storm. The real data from Homeland Security (you know those persons who actually are in the field and keep track of this sort of thing?) is that ZERO “known terrorists” have been apprehended at the Mexican border in the past year. In fact, the 6 persons (.0015 of the number Trump cited) who were apprehended and questioned (all of whom were either released or denied entry), were stopped because theirs was a name on the “no-fly” terrorist watch list. Most of these “stops” are because of a name being common enough that there is more than one person with that name. Again 4000 “claimed” - None, Zero, Zilch., factually terrorists, actual or potential.

Of course, 4 to 5 times as many on that same list are stopped from Canada annually, so if a wall is or ever could be justified, we should start at Nova Scotia and move west!
